Louisiana is facing a land loss crisis. Over 2000 square miles of invaluable wetlands have been lost to coastal erosion in the last century. “On Our Watch” examines the causes of coastal erosion and its devastating effects on the past, present and future of Louisiana.
Louisiana has a Master Plan to save its coast, but it is vastly underfunded and is being implemented too slowly. Time is running out. As the wetlands erode, the citizens are increasingly vulnerable to catastrophic hurricanes and floods that could render their homes uninhabitable.
